Retretti Art Centre
The Retretti Art Centre near Parikkala (link http://www.retretti.fi/) is a popular destination for art lovers. Retretti is one of the largest art centres in the Nordic region. There are currently more than 5,000 m2 of exhibition space of which more than half is in a unique underground cavern. In addition to the exhibition area, the cavern contains a large hall hacked out of the rock for concerts and other events. In summer, different concerts benefit from the entrancing subterranean atmosphere and acoustics, and in winter you can take part in range of adventure activities. Every year, art exhibitions at Retretti display not only the works of internationally acclaimed masters but also interesting contemporary pieces. And children are not neglected in what Retretti has to offer.
Retretti is situated about 40 kilometrin from Parikkala. You can easily get there by train, bus or car.
