Parikkala's natural sights and cultural landscape offer hikers plenty to see and experience. Parikkala has 80 km of hiking routes and nature trails. In addition, the European E10 long-distance hiking trail goes through Parikkala. Each trail is well signposted and along the routes are 'kota' huts and lean-to's in which walkers can take a well-earned rest. The trails are surrounded by a diverse natural environment. Ridges, dense spruce forests, forest ponds, quiet sandy roads and verdant bird-breeding lakes and bays punctuate the Parikkala landscape. On the bodies of water, you can go canoeing, fishing and boating.
Hiking trails, sights and the most important locations of natural beauty with related services are shown in Parikkala's hiking map book. These are for sale at Harjulinna Municipal Office, the Saari office, libraries and bookshops. The map book costs €12 (inc. 8% VAT).
The routes are also shown on the lakeside nature website
