3.5.6 Summer Sports

The people of Parikkala are active participants in summer sports. There are excellent facilities for engaging in and trying out different sports. For example, you can play football, go swimming, take part in athletics, play tennis or maybe even try out the local Karelian game of 'kyykkä' (a form of skittles).

The Harjulinna Sports Field in Parikkala is often said to be one of Finland's most beautiful. The field commands stunning views of Lake Simpele and the Sikoharju area of conservation.
